Wedding Day Photos!

Here’s a few of my favorite photos of Kelly’s wedding day. The day started at Jolie Salon & Spa where some of us got out hair done while others were at the mall getting their make up done. Afterwards, the bridesmaids all met up for lunch at Village Deli/Cafe Carolina in Cameron Village (Kelly’s mom as well as my mom & aunt stopped by then to say hi!). We then headed to the church to do make up/hair, chill, & get dressed. Photographs started outside but were quickly moved indoors due to rain. That’s lucky right?! Next came the beautiful ceremony & a few more family photos. We then headed on to the reception held at Brier Creek CC. The wedding party had its own cocktail hour area with drinks & appetizers. Most of these photos are from the ceremony when we had a chance to take them. Here’s Kelly & her mom & my mom & I.The reception seemed to fly by: introductions, first dance, wonderful station for dinner, then Kelly & her Dad’s dance, cake cutting. The Chi Omega’s in attendance sang “Shades” to Kelly then we started off the dance party! Here’s husband & I, the new Mr & Mrs, & “Annie” & her Kevin 🙂 Good times with friends old & new!A little more mother/daughter love at the end of the night!

And Mr & Mrs S are off to St Lucia!! Congratulations to an awesome couple!

Friday evening… aka Kelly & Brett’s Rehearsal Dinner

After the shower, I ran to Costco to pick up their fruit salad (only $12 & includes mango, pineapple, grapes, cantaloupe, etc) then to Trader Joe’s for wine & flowers. Then dropped off muffins for the bride’s family to munch on for the weekend~ they were so laid back & having fun.

The rehearsal started at 530p at Edenton Street UMC downtown. We ran through the beautiful ceremony & made sure we could line up & leave correctly. The music & bride were so georgeous I think most of us teared up as she and her Dad came down the aisle! We then figured out where’d we be headquartered the following day & the best way to enter & park.
We met up with other friends & guests at Caffe Luna for the rehearsal dinner. We enjoyed looking at old photos of Kelly & Brett growing up, enjoyed catching up with friends at our table, ate lots of yummy appetizers & pasta.
Then it was time for toasts! Brett’s Dad gave a couple cute toasts, Beth & I nervously did our best, the Fab 5 girls did great in rhyme no less, both of Kelly’s brothers did a sweet toast & Brett’s brother Brad’s brought us all to tears. Over all a great event that got us all ready to celebrate the upcoming big day!

What I’ve Been Up To… aka Kelly’s Wedding!

I decided I’d break this up into a couple of different posts. First Kelly’s Bridal Luncheon, then Kelly & Brett’s Rehearsal & Dinner, finally the big event, their wedding! I didn’t take any photos, but I will post some that my friend B shared.

After months or fun events & plans & last week’s worth of running around (and this was just me!!), Kelly & Brett’s weekend finally arrived. I made Kelly’s rehearsal bow bouquet last Monday night. I wrote the rehearsal dinner matron of honor toast Tuesday. I got my hair cut & highlighted Tuesday night. Wednesday I cleaned up since my parents were staying with us for the weekend. Thursday, I got a manicure & pedicure then I used my KitchenAid mixer for the first time to make blueberry muffins & banana bread muffins for family breakfast & wedding day snacks. Friday I took off work, woke up early to do Jillian’s 30 Day Shred for one last pre-wedding work out, got dressed up in a new Lilly dress & celebrated with Kelly’s female family members and wedding attendants at the Bridal Luncheon.

The luncheon was held at the Capital City club which is on the 28th floor of the Wachovia building downtown. Great views, wonderful food (oh that peanut butter chocolate cake!), and a great time with friends. Kelly & her Fab 5 bridesmaids from HS.

Brett’s super sweet aunt served as our hostess. Brett’s cousin who’s newest hobby is photography, took some great photos of the bridesmaids. I’ll share those once she posts on facebook. Here’s all the bridesmaids. Posed by the cousin, taken by another friend.

Kelly’s Bachelorette Weekend at Ft Lauderdale!

We had such a great time on our trip celebrating Kelly’s last few single weeks!

Five of us arrived about the same time & shared a ride with “Action” Jackson to the Hilton. Here’s me, Meghan, Kelly (the bride to be), B, & Kristen (the 5 month pregnant trooper!).

It was mid afternoon at this point so we headed to the closest restaurant Casablanca Cafe where we enjoyed yummy lunch & cold beverage. The other two bridesmaids & friends joined us back at the hotel. We decorated the room & got to know each other better~ pretty much girl talked the evening away. Based on recommendations from the hotel & a friend’s sister, we went down to Las Olas Blvd for dinner at the Samba Room. The menu featured different seafood as well as Cuban inspired items. I enjoyed this amazing Cobb salad with mangos & black beans & a avocado lime dressing. Topped the meal off with a mango mojito! We stopped by YOLO afterwards but we were pretty spent from our day of travel and ended the night soon after.Saturday morning started with a walk on the beach, then thanks to Beth’s Hilton status, we enjoyed free breakfast contonential buffett. Even though it was a windy 70 outside, we were in FL & layed out for a few hours by the pool. I started Such a Pretty Fat & the girls were laughing at me giggling away at Jen Lancaster’s writing.

We walked up the main beach strip to H20 for lunch. Salads looked great & I had awesome grouper tacos. (And yes I was sporting my new scarf!!)Tamar is so creative! She made up a bachelorette themed scavenger hunt. We divided up into two teams; the bride to be was on the other team, but ours found Fat Tuesday & a bachelor party so thanks to them we were able to complete a lot of tasks & won~ 49 to 31! Afterwards, we grabbed a quick drink at Fat Tuesday before just beating the rain back to the hotel. The rain didn’t get us down though~ we just had a dance party in the suite!
We went to dinner based on the hotel’s recommendation at Big City Tavern. We went to Mangos next. Fun band but a more older scene~ they might’ve been a lil overwhelmed by us! We’d heard Blue Martini was fun~ so glad we went~ they had an amazing band & played fun current hits. Felt like we were at a concert. We ended the night at Whiskey Blue at the W hotel. Seems like it was the place to see & be seen. Had to wait in line 10+ minutes just to get it. We were kinda done by that point but luckily were next door to our hotel.Sunday was pretty chill breakfast & then off to the airport. Such an awesome weekend! I loved (meeting &/or) getting to know Kelly’s best girls even better. Can’t wait for her wedding on 4/24!

Cheryl & Brian’s Wedding!

The weekend before this one, we were down in Greenville, SC for my good friend from college’s wedding. It was a great time for sure! We actually ran into the bride taking some pictures in front of the hotel before the wedding. The photographers who are friends of theirs, did an awesome job, but they also had easy on the eye bride & groom! The locations were fabulous. Quite a trip up the mountain to get to “Pretty Place” for the ceremony, but man it was a view!! The ceremony itself was really special & very them. We passed their wedding rings around to all the guest for them to warm them with love.Cheryl was gorgeous! She and Brian looked so happy & excited. I cried for the first time in a while at the wedding! The fall foliage made a beautiful back drop! After the trip down the mountain, we regrouped to celebrate the new Mr & Mrs Cass! The cocktail hour was outside with yummy appetizers and Electric Lemonades as the signature cocktail. The Chi O girls crowded around the couple. Their first dance was really sweet. The reception was at a restaurant called The Lazy Goat. Funny name, but great place~ good food & drinks & fun! Cheryl & her Chi O sisters. We had a great time catching with college friends & partying with some of our favorites! They left to bubbles, which make for fun photos; then they ran back inside to keep the celebration going on. Beth, Kevin & I ventured out to The Oyster, a cute lil bar on the other side of the hotel for an extra late night beer or two. 😛
