Happy first full week of May! And May means for most kids, the winding down of school & thus taking the time to thank the teachers who have helped teach & care for your children this year.
Lucy & Zach moved up to the late 2s/early 3s room at their daycare a couple months back, so these teachers they didn’t have last May or over Christmas. Making this week my time to tell these ladies a big THANK YOU! For keeping L & Z happy during the day, for making sure they eat, nap, play nicely with their friends & each other, for learning & for getting Lucy almost completely potty trained (probably another post, another time)!
In the age of Pinterest, it’s easy to find images & ideas other moms have done for Teacher Appreciation, but as a non-super crafty, overly-tired, working mom of two almost-3 year olds, I leave the Pinterest projects to someone else.
I’m relying on my trusty favorites: food & gift cards! You can’t go wrong there right?! I figured I’d stop by Target after work & grab a lip balm & little gift card for each of their 3 teachers. I won’t have specialty printed paper, but I figured I could write “You’re the balm! Love, Zach & Lucy” as my nod to the crafty moms.
And for food, no question, the Bruegger’s Big Bagel Bundle. This way I can not only give breakfast to their two morning teachers, but show my appreciation to the whole staff with 13 bagels & two yummy cream cheese tubs! A handwritten note of thanks & quick stop at Bruegger’s Friday morning is simple yet perfect! & Bruegger’s is always a delicious hit in my opinion!

My kids made cards to show their appreciation and I have reach teacher a reuseable cup filled with drink mixes.

We always write thank you cards and go out and get the a personalized gift.
I will have my daughter make her a hand written thank you card and probably hook her up with some coffee gift cards maybe a restaurant gift card because she is a momma of 5!!!

I think my favorite teacher appreciation gift was painting pots using handprint art. I purchased clay pots at Michaels, painted them white and then made flowers out of the kids hands, a butterfly with their feet and bees and caterpillars with their thumbs/fingers. And put a nice potted plant in it. It was cheap but very meaningful!
These are great ideas! Our school does teacher appreciation week during another part of the year, but this is a good reminder to do something to thank the teachers this week too. And I love the Brugger’s Bagel Bundle for all the teachers.
I am getting each of her teachers a $10 giftcard – one to Target and one to Starbucks. If I win this I will also drop off breakfast for all the teachers as well – great idea~

This year we made goodie bags for Tuesday with some yummy treats. Friday we’re giving them the Pinterest special – a planter painted with chalkboard paint that we will write “thank you for helping me grow” on it and put a plant inside. They will both also get a gift card to their favorite places.
We did goodie bags yesterday and will do little planters with gift cards on Friday. I hope the teachers are appreciative!
Jane doesn’t have any real teachers yet, but I was thinking of doing something for my mom this week since she teaches her new things every day. Gift cards and bagels are always good choices!
I think a Starbucks gift card would be a nice idea for a teacher.
I covered lunch and playground duty for my sons Kindergarten class so the teacher and assistant could eat the catered lunch provided to all the teachers by our school together.
I love a handmade card with a gift certificate, and maybe something else I know is something the teacher likes, a couple of organic candy bars or soap, but nothing over the top.
