I don’t think I’ve posted yet about my grandparents’ new puppy! They welcomed him home right before July 4th. I even got him a lil July 4th T-shirt for the occasion (but he ran round too quick for me to get a good pic of him in it!). Bocce is a Bishon Frise and only weighed around 3 lbs the first time we saw him. He fit under the couch, the end tables & the lazyboy foot rest!
Jason & I were down there at the end of July and he’d grown so much! (But ran around so much Nana had to hold him still)
We saw him again labor day weekend and Mr. Bocce is now around 7 lbs. Mom & I took him on his first beach walk that weekend, but we forgot to take a camera with us. Here’s one of my dad & Bocce. He loved trying to chew on Dad’s heating pad wraps which meant his lil booty was in my dad’s face!!

Magnus & Amber’s Wedding
Jason & I went to the wedding of my friend & former coworker Amber & her new husband Amber over labor day weekend. I was the greeter for the wedding. Sadly I don’t have a good picture of the new husband & wife. But here’s Amber & me!
The wedding was at St Frances on Leesville and the reception was held at The Umstead.
They did an awesome job with it~ the big and little details were all great! She decorated the cocktail tables with whole limes with one gerbera daisy then the main dining/dance area tables had those amazing flowers!
The DJ was great, the food was very upscale & yummy, and awesome cake!Iit was wonderful to catch up with my Farm Bureau buddies!
Just realized that I hadn’t posted pictures from the party at our house. I added a few of the food to the post below. But I thought I’d add some fun pictures of us & our friends from the night as well. The bride & groom-to-be!
The crowd spread out in our kitchen/den/dining room as well as our back deck. Here’s my college friends & I outside.
Melon/peach must be the color of the season~ its the color of my new dress as well as 8 other ladies!!! It was great to meet &/or spend more time with Kelly & Brett’s friends and fellow wedding party members.
The three of us were recreating a end-of-the-party picture that we’d taken at Jason & I’s similar party. Good times. 😛
Can’t wait to their couples shower on 10/3 to continue the celebration!
Banana Cupcakes/Muffins
When Jason started to have stomach problems a couple of weeks back, he found this recipe under a heart-burn free diet recipes on about.com. I had all the ingredients on hand so I made them that same night and I think 3 times since. The below recipe made right around 12 or 13 cupcakes for us.
We don’t love A LOT of icing on our cupcakes. I made the icing as the below recipe says and only used half for a batch. The I froze it only to thaw it a week or so later when we made another batch.
Banana Cupcakes Ingredients:
1 c flour
1/2 teaspoon baking salt
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 granulated sugar
1/4 c butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 c mashed ripe bananas (I used a little more the second time around and they were more moist)
4 large egg whites
1/4 c fat free sour cream
Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 12 cup muffin tin with nonstick spray. In small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt & cinnamon until well blended. In a large bowl, cream together the butter & sugar. Add vanilla and bananas to the butter/sugar mixture and beat thoroughly. Stir in half the flour mixture and the sour cream. Add the remaining flour mixture and stir until just combined. Spoon the batter into the muffin cups. Bake for 25-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in a cupcake is clean. Cool for 15 mins before removing from pan and icing.
Cream Cheese Icing
1 1/2 c powdered sugar
8 oz fat free cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Beat all the frosting ingredients together in a medium bowl until creamy. Spread frosting thinly over the cupcakes using knife or spatula. Enjoy!
