Coupon Queen in Training

A couple coworkers are awesome at coupons (they have organized binders & everything!). I dabble; I clip if I’m around a newspaper at family’s house, but print most of them out online. I check out to deals on wral.com, southern savers & since it’s my cousin’s website, my military mommy. I found out what were supposed to be the best deals but made sure they were things we’d use. I also wanted to stock up on things that I had coupons that would be tripled this week as well as things HT had on sale. So I spent $53 but between VIC deals & coupons saved $54! That includes two things of the Smart Chicken breasts, two cases of waters, diet coke, fruit as well as lots of regular groceries. The only things I purchased that were regular priced were milk & eggos since we needed both for breakfast this morning. 🙂

Next stop, CVS to pick up a RX. I remembered seeing on southernsavers.com though that CVS had good sunscreen deals this week (buy any two of their brand & get $5 off of next visit). I also had coupons for face wash, Dove deoderant, tampons, hair mousse & candy. I scanned by CVS card & was able to print a $2 coupon as well as $5 off purchase of $40. So my total was $28 & I saved $22 not including the $5 off for next time!

In (not so) short, although it can take a little time to look though websites to find best deals as well as to find/print/clip/organize coupons. It is definitely worth it!!

Chi O Quilt

This past weekend, I gave my friend B the Chi O T-shirt quilt my Nana finished for her in April. She loved it as you can see here with her own blog post about it. I realized seeing that post that I’d never made one about mine or the one Nana made for Kelly.

Mine came first after I got the idea from my good friend & sorority big sister Melissa who’s super crafty & made her own. I found some sample ones online. Nana is super crafty & was able to create a pattern for it. We decided 4 shirts across & 5 shirts down. Next the hard part was deciding which 20 shirts!! I found NCSU fabric at Walmart for in between the shirts & a cute red & white dots fabric for the back & sides. I decided to have my shirts in order of event date even though that meant a few slashing colors are close by. Nana calls mine the “rough draft”, but I say its anything but!

Wedding Day Photos!

Here’s a few of my favorite photos of Kelly’s wedding day. The day started at Jolie Salon & Spa where some of us got out hair done while others were at the mall getting their make up done. Afterwards, the bridesmaids all met up for lunch at Village Deli/Cafe Carolina in Cameron Village (Kelly’s mom as well as my mom & aunt stopped by then to say hi!). We then headed to the church to do make up/hair, chill, & get dressed. Photographs started outside but were quickly moved indoors due to rain. That’s lucky right?! Next came the beautiful ceremony & a few more family photos. We then headed on to the reception held at Brier Creek CC. The wedding party had its own cocktail hour area with drinks & appetizers. Most of these photos are from the ceremony when we had a chance to take them. Here’s Kelly & her mom & my mom & I.The reception seemed to fly by: introductions, first dance, wonderful station for dinner, then Kelly & her Dad’s dance, cake cutting. The Chi Omega’s in attendance sang “Shades” to Kelly then we started off the dance party! Here’s husband & I, the new Mr & Mrs, & “Annie” & her Kevin 🙂 Good times with friends old & new!A little more mother/daughter love at the end of the night!

And Mr & Mrs S are off to St Lucia!! Congratulations to an awesome couple!

Friday evening… aka Kelly & Brett’s Rehearsal Dinner

After the shower, I ran to Costco to pick up their fruit salad (only $12 & includes mango, pineapple, grapes, cantaloupe, etc) then to Trader Joe’s for wine & flowers. Then dropped off muffins for the bride’s family to munch on for the weekend~ they were so laid back & having fun.

The rehearsal started at 530p at Edenton Street UMC downtown. We ran through the beautiful ceremony & made sure we could line up & leave correctly. The music & bride were so georgeous I think most of us teared up as she and her Dad came down the aisle! We then figured out where’d we be headquartered the following day & the best way to enter & park.
We met up with other friends & guests at Caffe Luna for the rehearsal dinner. We enjoyed looking at old photos of Kelly & Brett growing up, enjoyed catching up with friends at our table, ate lots of yummy appetizers & pasta.
Then it was time for toasts! Brett’s Dad gave a couple cute toasts, Beth & I nervously did our best, the Fab 5 girls did great in rhyme no less, both of Kelly’s brothers did a sweet toast & Brett’s brother Brad’s brought us all to tears. Over all a great event that got us all ready to celebrate the upcoming big day!
