Grey Thumb?

When I saw today’s meme {what you can grow} for Capture the Everyday, my first thought was my nails {thanks prenatal vitamins}! Then I realized Melissa meant something green.

I can easily show you what I can’t grow. That, my friends, is the shamrock plant my aunt brought over when I hosted bunco St Patty’s day. One month later that bad boy is done. My mom swears she’s never heard of anyone killing a shamrock plant. My green-thumb’d Nana said they require a lot of light {which it wasn’t getting on both my kitchen & then dining room tables}.

But due to magic {I know it’s not me}, the tiny little day lillies I planted our first spring in this house {Apr 2006} are thriving again this year. I noticed when I took this photo today that they are thisclose to budding flowers.

Half black thumb, half green thumb equals grey right?! What can you grow? Anyone else think Melissa meant hair/nails/babies?!

ETC

Sunday, after church with Papa & Mom, we picked up Alethea from Jen’s & proceeded to eat our fill plus some at the Cypress brunch. Back at the condo, I packed up while my family chatted A up & embarrassed me by weirdly bursting out in song {tell me my family’s not the only one?!}. I was ready to go because we were off to snuggle triplets! Yep, Alethea & I hadn’t gotten our fill at the previous day’s walk {& I guess Jenny hadn’t gotten her fill either since she invited us}!

Jenny had just started feeding Eleanor when we arrived. Lucky the pup made room on the couch for us. R was in charge of diaper changes, then brought Toby to Alethea, then Callista to me. I’d forgotten my DSLR at home so I was without it all weekend. I hadn’t forgotten my cell {like I did at the walk}, so I snapped a few of the babes. I was trying to get one of Toby while he was looking at me, but he’d move at the last minute {really the camera is kinda slow}. Callista & I had a few out-takes before I got a smile. 🙂

Rob was able to get fun ones of us all in a baby feeding line. As per their warning Callista was the last to start eating & the first to finish. Then puke as soon as I sat her up. Poor girl. Alethea shared in the fun as Toby deuced it up while her hand was right on his bum. 🙂

After burps & farts were complete, C & T rocked & chatted a bit on these cool vibrating chairs.

They loved the elephant & monkey. I was impressed by the cool chairs & how much they’ve grown & learned since I’d hung out with them in February. Our “we’ll just stop by” turned into an hour+ in a flash. So sadly, after one more hug & snuggle from all, we made the trip back to Raleigh. Can’t wait to see what they’ll be doing & into by my next CLT trip!

March for Babies

I want to first thank Beth F, Melissa, Nicole, Beth D, Beth L, Carrie, Cheryl, Kelly, Nana, Papa & Brooke. Also my mom for walking & donating. I met my goal of $250 & our team, PB&J Time, raised $11754. The most EVER by ANY NC family team!

Four of us {& Harrison} stayed with Jen & her family Friday night. My mom met us over at Jen’s & we caravan’d uptown. How cute are our shirts {designed by Emilee Beth}!?!

Our large group met with hugs & catching up. Lots of babies & strollers & friends.

Jenny & her family ~ honoring her triplets is the reason we gathered.

The walk started with drums. BA was feeling it while Harrison & I smiled wondering what she was doing!

As you can see from Jen & Emilee Beth’s photos the hugs, laughing & chatting continued for all 3.5 miles.

BA & Harry

There was a little toddler wrangling & crying baby wearing along the way as well.

Jenny & Eleanor

Our car-full hung out for a little while afterwards. Checking out cute babies & their cute family.

Nana & Callista

Toby & Grandma

The weather was beautiful, the walkers & babies all did great. I’m so proud & happy to have been out there Saturday along with my amazing friends celebrating babies & the March of Dimes. I can’t wait to see them again. And we’re all looking forward to next year’s March for Babies ~ think we can raise $15,000?!

Another Week of photos

Project 365 is still going strong at week 17. We were pretty boring mid-week so there’s a lack of photos then.

Day 113 Saturday of Easter weekend. Bocce on the screened in porch.

Day 114 My in-laws in their backyard over looking the pond. {more of Easter Sunday}

Day 115 We left the beach early enough that I was able to get a pedicure Monday before my favorite place closed.

Day 116 Tuesday I went to dinner & the movies to see Water for Elephants with my friend Jen. I loved the movie & even cried a few tears.

Day 117 Wednesday I realized the cycle was a bust. Bad new to me means food. I made these easy {yet from scratch} blueberry muffins.

Day 118 I went to the RE & the dentist Thursday morning, & then I stayed late at work to make up for it. I packed for my Charlotte trip & didn’t take any photos.

Day 119 Friday I left work early to walk this corporate apartment for my mom’s work {I loved how it was done & photo’d to show my mom}. I picked up Alethea & we headed to the new Mebane Tanger outlets. I bought a few things at Loft outlet & new work out pants from Jockey. We got to Charlotte around 930~ just in time for wine & laughter with friends.

What was the best part of your week?
