Living the Beachy Life

for the weekend at least. This time with some of my favorite ladies. Poe, BA, Kathleen & I caravan’d down Friday night to be greeted by my grandparents & Sara the mrs. We’d bought down just a few things to eat & drink…

Food, Drinks, Friends. Can't beat that for a Friday night.

I read this on ever-eloquent BA’s McFatty post today & thought yes, exactly.

I looked at my girlfriends & we’re all different shapes & sizes.  We’re tall & short & pudgy & thin & we all hate the spare tires around hips.  We’re mothers, we’re expecting, we’re trying, we’re infertile, we’re not quite ready.  We’re tired hard workers, still hoping to cut loose over a road trip & silly jokes.

{pretty sure I’m one of the tall & also the pudgy & we’re trying friend. I’m owning that.}

But you know what I also loved, the support we give & gave each other. The infertile & not-quite-ready that BA mentioned, they were cheering me on from the bathroom as I was doing the progesterone late Friday night. Y’all inserting that is tough when you’re laughing & feeling the love like I was.

Saturday morning, I woke up to the giggle of my Nana & my friends down stairs. We walked a couple miles then beached it up for hours. {Nana snapped these of them loading the cart while I loaded the cooler. Be impressed, we took in all down in one trip.}

Babes heading to the beach

The beach day included books, girly beers, a lunch trip back to the house for pimento cheese sandwiches, fighting with wind-filled umbrellas & a floppy hat for me.

OIB Love
Nothing like sand between your toes

{BA took the far left pic}

We continued reading on the front porch after a snack of more pimento cheese, Kathleen’s hummus & my Costco-bought spinach & artichoke dip.

Dinner was at the Inlet View. The ladies & view were looking good. My blackened fish was great, Sara’s crab legs enjoyed, & Poe & K let me try their mango shrimp {it was yummy!}. We ended up with a free round of drinks due to us being moved around & the rowdy group sitting near us.

Love these Ladies

My new BFF, Skinny Firefly made another appearance after dinner with we were playing Scribblish which is very fun. The relaxation of the beach got to us all & it ended up being an early night.

The beach church service was wonderful again this weekend. A soloist was in town & blessed us with his voice. Poe was making a fabulous breakfast of eggs & sausage & black beans with tortillas when I walked back in the house. Sadly, she & BA headed back home soon after. Sara, K & I walked {to the pier & back this time} then basked in another couple hours of beach sun before making our own ways back home.

My weekend summary~ the beach rocks, my grandparents are so sweet & brave for having us, & y’all, my friends are awesome.

Week 22 Project 365

I’m a little behind on posting, but here’s another week in photos. I’m just realizing that all but one of these are food/beverages! I’ll try for other subjects for next week.

Day 155: I already shared a photo overload from Sarah’s wedding, but I left out this photo of the cookie favors. {they made a good Sunday snack.} [flickr id=”5827017532″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 156: I celebrated Nicole & the upcoming birth of her daughter Sloan at a shower filled with friends, love, good food & great girly gifts. [flickr id=”5827016204″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 157: Monday, due to TTC, I went to work late which meant I wasn’t hungry at lunch time. When I was hungry, all the cafe at work could sell me was this. Lunch of champions, I’d say not. [flickr id=”5827016580″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 158: no photo Tuesday. I think I was boring at home.

Day 159: Wednesday night I joined 11 other Raleigh bloggers {some of us more frequent bloggers than others} for dinner at Vivace. Thanks to us tweeting away {& being patient waiters for a table}, we received star treatment & free appetizers. Mel from Adventuroo enjoyed pizza while that risotto was all mine! [flickr id=”5827016678″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 160: If You Were Here by Jen Lancaster was put in my beach bag to finish at the beach. {review of it soon} [flickr id=”5826465939″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 161: Sara brought down two bottles of my new summer BFF since I couldn’t find it at my local ABC store! [flickr id=”5827035866″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

How was your week?

TTC Update Cycle 18

When it comes to TTC for me, no news hasn’t been good news. As I’d thought, our benched cycle was a bust.

Cycle 18 caught me off guard. I was so focused on my upcoming work trip, I’d lost count & ended up having to go to the RE a little early. Day 1 & my taking Femara began while I was out if town.

My day 12 appointment was last Saturday morning. Since I’ve spoken of “wandy” a few times, before the ultrasound tech came in, I snapped this cell phone pic of the machine I deal with twice a cycle. [flickr id=”5816834297″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”] Even though one of the cysts was still hanging out, a follicle had matured behind it! I did the Ovidrel shot around noon before we went to the wedding. Cue whirlwind weekend of fun events with timed I thrown in-between.

Now I’m in the dreaded two week wait. I’m happy to have fun plans like last nights bloggy ladies dinner last night at Vivace & a girls beach weekend starting tomorrow to distract me. Doing the math, it seems like I’ll find out if this is our cycle on father’s day. How special could that be for husband?!

Sarah’s Wedding

My Chi O sister & friend Sarah married Mike this Saturday. It was the first wedding I’d attended since getting my DSLR. I *just might* have gone a little photo crazy taking 250+ photos! Sarah looked gorgeous, Mike so happy & the wedding party was great.

I left my camera in the car for the ceremony which was outside on the grass. Pretty readings, nice homily & ecstatic bride & groom.

We chose tables, grabbed beers & snacks & chatted with friends during cocktail hour. Such fun!

Perfect Spring Wedding Day

The decor {most of which she did herself} was perfect! I just have to share some of my favorites here.

Such special details

The Mr & Mrs getting introduced, first dance & Sarah & her dad’s dance.

The happy couple dances!

I loved the sweets ~ they were not only beautiful but very yummy!

Love these beautiful delicious cupcakes

Chi Os practiced Shades {our sing to the bride song} outside then sang to Sarah in front of the crowd. I didn’t cry at my own Shades, but seeing Sarah tear up & looking into friends’ faces did me in. I couldn’t even finish singing {not that anyone missed my voice}. We realized towards the end of the night that we’ hadn’t yet taken a Chi O group photo, so this one is missing a few of the ladies.

Chi O's showing Sarah the love

Can you tell how much fun we all had that this awesome wedding?

Such a pretty location

There was plenty of dancing including a group of Mike’s friends breaking it down pretend jump-rope style. Mike & Sarah jumped in the circle too. We said goodbye & wished them off to a happy honeymoon with fun sparkly snow.

Busting a few moves

Congratulation to the new Mr & Mrs! So thrilled for y’all & thanks for including us.

Project 365

Day 148 I mentioned in my Memorial Day weekend post, but again I loved Inlet View’s chairs.  [flickr id=”5792500152″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 149: Public beach access during Sunday morning’s beach church service. [flickr id=”5792500658″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 150: Welcome back into Raleigh {sat in holiday-weekend traffic 20 miles outside of the city}. [flickr id=”5792500784″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 151: Cute meets functional! I shopped to solve my “red neck” issue. [flickr id=”5792563472″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 152: A fun book club followed by dinner out with husband to celebrate his great day at work. I enjoyed this margarita & some of the bread at Outback. [flickr id=”5795318672″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 153 Thursday meant husband watching the heat game while Moe chilled & I played online. [flickr id=”5795318922″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]

Day 154 Jason went out with some guys Friday after work. I ate Panera by myself then excitedly came home to find my newest Gussy headband & laptop bag on my doorstep! [flickr id=”5795318976″ thumbnail=”medium” overlay=”true” size=”medium” group=”” align=”center”]
