NCSU v BC

After Saturday’s OT loss to ECU, my heart is a little less pumped about NCSU’s football season, but I still want to share with y’all photos from last Saturday’s game. My parents came in town for the game and my aunt Sue also went with us. The game was at noon which is my least favorite game time: less time for tailgating and right in the heat of the day. Since it was an early start, I made an apple cake, Tastefully Simple beer bread, Fiesta Dip (which I spruced with with a drained can of Rotel), broccoli, cucumber, Scoops, Bojangles chicken strips & biscuits, and fruit salad. Nine am is a little early for a cold beer, so we brought Bloody Marys & I made a Firefly Lemonade with the Tastefully Simple lemonade mix {we saved the beer for halftime}.
We also brought the new gingham table cloth my Nana made for our tailgating card table and the corn hole boards & bags Pawpaw & Nana made for us. The cornhole was a hit! Mom & Sue were cornhole newbies but they did great~ beating Jason & I in a close game. Family friends Brad C & his son Casey stopped by and pretended they were cornhole newbies. They easily beat the sisters. We switched up the teams and Brad & I were doing ok, but then the NCSU band stopped right in front of our tailgate so we forgot about the game & cheered them on instead.

As usual, I didn’t bring my camera into the game, but since I had my parents’ I took a few photos of the team coming out onto the field. Go Pack!

Fall Decorating

A couple great things about having my parents in town (besides the obvious~hanging out with them), a clean house & Mom around to help me decorate for fall! We got out my Halloween stash Saturday night and set it out around the house. The wreath was too thick for the front door so I put in the foyer instead. I put a little wooden owl on the front door.We also took a trip to Walmart and brought a pumpkin, gourds, and some pansies for the mailbox & front stoop. Happy Fall Y’all!

Its Thursday…

…which mean time for Thankful Thursday with The Outdoor Wife.
I was going to skip this week since I’ve had a busy week and thought I’d skip a night of blogging. But while I was sitting on the couch tonight, I realized I was thankful & needed to get it out.

While not super deep & thought-provoking, tonight I’m thankful for:
*banana pudding. easy to make, few ingredients & oh so good!

*the excitement of upcoming vacation! even if it’s a just a long weekend 3 hours away. I can’t wait to put my feet in the sand, hang out with my family & witness a family friend’s wedding.

*finding a great dress on sale! I was going back & forth about what to wear to Saturday’s wedding. Thanks for Loft & their 25% off sale, I got this dress. I also got small gold hoops & plan to borrow a basic gold bracelet from Mom. I promise I won’t wear those shoes!And while I was there I bought this sweater in Opal Grey which I plan to wear with black/grey pants I bought but couldn’t find a photo of & this top. The chiffon roses have a gold tint. I think it’ll look super cute with jeans & gold wedges this fall. A lot all while on my lunch break right? The total $118!

*last but certainly not least~ Fall TV shows! Saturday means college football! Sunday means Amazing Race; Monday: Oprah (every weekday), Quints by Surprise, House & hubby’s Chuck; Tuesday Glee, Biggest Loser, 19 Kids and Counting & Sons of Anarchy; Wednesday: Survivor; Thursday: Grey’s & Private Practice. Why yes, we do watch a lot of TV. Thank goodness for DVR!

SoftBums Mystery Event

After participating in a #clothdiaper twitter party a while back, I got on a cloth diaper products kicks. I went to a few different websites but had heard and seen a lot about SoftBums online. I saw a tweet about emailing them to do a possible review or event promotion for their new diaper.

So after a glass {or two!} of wine, I emailed! Awesomely they wrote back. I gave them a little more information about me & this blog. They decided that while only a small number of blogs were able to be the review bloggers {which wouldn’t been hard for me since no baby yet!}, they did chose this blog to be one of their reporting bloggers.
