A Little Summer Shopping

I won Changing the Universe‘s blog giveaway winning a 25 Design headband. I couldn’t choose between pink/black roses & green ones, so once I saw a discount code on FB I decided to order a second so I could have both!

To solve my sunburnt head & neck issue for future beach & pool trips this summer, I bought this $10 hat at Target. While I was there I also picked up this black tankini. I already have basic black bottoms. I love that it’s lined & very long which works well for my long torso. Since a post isn’t the same without photos, here’s self-portraits of the purchases {but don’t think for a second you’re getting a bathing suit pic~ not going to happen}. I think I’m ready for my next beach trip!

2011 Lilly Warehouse Sale

Earlier this week, the flier for the Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse sale arrived in my mailbox. It brought back so many fun memories from last years sale {chance meeting that got us tickets, waiting in line with hundreds of fellow Lilly lovers, running in to grab our favorites, changing in a corner!}. Just realized that it was exactly a year ago today, I announced that I was going!

This year’s sale is again being held at Valley Forge Convention Center & it’s June 9-11th. Oh the dresses, shoes, tops, pants & don’t forget scarves! Sadly, I won’t be able to make it up there. {My expensive trip this year is the BlogHer conference}. But I really would love to make it back to the Warehouse sale another year.

Who’s going? Are you camping out the day before with friends? What are you hoping to purchase?

steam it up?!

Last night on twitter, MrsLLG, Lins610 & Poeia were discussing the amazingness that is the Shark Steam Mop. It all started when Lauren bought one this weekend at Costco. Then Lins chimed in that she’d used hers from everything from the kitchen & bathroom floors to the walls! Sarah asked if it could clean the shower walls with it! I was smitten.

I’d missed the opportunity to get the basic one {photo above} at Walmart for $25 midnight Thanksgiving last year. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. Especially after reading their tweets last night. This evening I went to Costco all set to purchase & make this dream machine my own.

I was shocked to find that the professional model even at Costco was $99 {after researching to find photos-from shark website- I realize this is a good deal}. I was guessing more like $50-$75.

Tonight I passed. I bought wine, rotisserie chicken, bananas & dried mangos instead. I’m going to sit on the idea. See how long I can deal with not-steamed-floors while waiting for the price to drop. Or even better to find a Kohls or Walmart coupon for it. I think I’d be good with the basic.

Does anyone have one already? Is it all that plus more? What’s the craziest thing you’ve cleaned with it? Where have you found either for cheap?!

Lilly Pulitzer on Rue La La {again!}

Lilly was again featured on Rue La La this morning begining at 10a. I had a RE appointment, so it was almost 10 when I got to work. I was working away when I glanced at my phone at 1115 & suddenly realized, I’d missed the beginning of the sale.

There were a lot of pjs, sunglasses & bags on the sale as well as dresses, shirts, skirts & MCKIMS! Lucky for me there was a size 9.5 left in these super cute McKims.
I also picked up the basic Lexie top in Shorely Blue which I think will match perfect with the scarf I bought at the Warehouse Sale last spring.

Lilly shopping always has me ready for summer. What’d you buy at the sale? Didn’t know about it? Run over to RueLaLa now!

{posting at work so I’ll fix photos later}

A lil shopping post

Me sad, frustrated, happy, excited=shopping &/or eating.  I call a year of unsuccessful TTC all four of the former & the reason for my gaining 8+ pounds this year & doing a good amount of shopping recently.  But I’ve told Jason that my online {which has been the big one} shopping will be cut out.  Of course just that week {last week}, I’d ordered a casual purple dress & two skirts from Boden & a top from Gap.  oops.

Thought I’d share with y’all me in the dark jean skirt since it arrived today.  I think it’ll look good with leggings & boots now & also with flip flops this summer.  Photo taken self-portrait style keeping on my caramel sweater from work.  Please ignore my scarily white legs!

I’m still undecided about the melon skirt but I think I’ll love it with tall boots.  I wore the dress yesterday {with brown leggings & the new Gap brown shirt} & I love it!  I think I could’ve ordered a size smaller in all three, but due to the weight gain & hopefully future baby sooner than later & being tired of tight clothes, I think I’ll be happy with that decision for the dress & jean skirt.  I tried on this coral skirt again & think I’ll exchange for the next size down.  These were my first Boden purchases & so far I’m impressed.  Love the free shipping & free returns too!

photos from Boden site

But since I’m putting it out there, y’all hold me to it~ no more shopping {at least for a lil while}. 😛
