Gotta love…

fulfilled promises & great (twitter) customer service! {One last cat litter post & then I promise I’m done!}

After making this post & some earlier & later tweets back & forth with @bestcatlitter, they offered us free bag of the cat litter they suggested to us. Of course, I gladly took them up on the offer. But honestly, I thought wel,l some things that sound too good to be true, might be just that. But today I came home from work with a World’s Best Cat Litter box on the doorstep. Moekitty must have know what was inside because he was VERY curious. Inside they gave us a 3.5 lb bag of the multi-cat litter & a mat that I plan to put under Moe’s litterbox.

I took a photo of what the box contained then my usually photo shy cat jumped in the photo! {He’s a fan & says “thanks”!}

I had bought a large sized bag of the standard World’s Best & plan to use that up before totally switching to the multi-cat version. But I bought a bag of the mulit-cat two weeks ago and added it in the box with the other. I do think it helped cover up smells better. So far I haven’t noticed it clumping all that much more, but like I said, it’s just a little mixed in for now. I’m looking forward to seeing how it does. And we will certainly see soon & for a while becuase we are well stocked now. Since I had a $3 off coupon set to expire 9/15, I bought a bag Saturday & now thanks again to World’s Best, we received another in the mail today!

I had been buying World’s Best Cat Litter on my own (with the help of coupons) for months before World’s Best Cat litter gave us this bag. Big thanks to them, but the opinions & photos in this post are all mine (well & Moekitty’s).

Thankful Thursday

Last week I went for mostly the big things I’m thankful for. Today, it’s the little things.

* happy hour tonight with my college sorority sisters. Happy hour scheduled today for next Wed with my coworkers.
*speaking of happy hours, I’m thankful for beer/wine/cocktails! Some nights they just make it all better!
*books! I love getting new ones even if they’re used from PBS or the library. My TBR stack is piling up with The Hunger Games, The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes, & The Friday night Knitting Club up next after I finish South of Broad.
*Tastefully Simple stuff. I received a box full of the goodies I’d purchased from two weeks ago. I made a little of the Fiesta Dip last night (3 tsp Fiesta mix, 2 tbsp mayo, 6 tbsp plain yogurt (I subbed that for sour cream). It was so good on my sandwich & with veggies!
*Laura Mercier mascara. I forgot to put it on this morning until I went to the bathroom at 10. I look so weird {to me} without it. My coworkers at Amy’s birthday break didn’t even notice though.

Go Pack!

Yesterday was the start of the college football season for us at NC State. It was a great day. The weather was perfect. The tailgating great with yummy food, drinks & fabulous friends. To make the day complete, NCSU won 48-7!!

We broke out the cornhole boards Pawpaw made this summer. This might be the LEAST flattering photo of us, but sadly, it’s the best.

Speaking of food, I made the Betty Crocker Simply Pasta Salad in Casear. I love that pasta salad ~ it’s easy & doesn’t require mayo.

I said I’d bring a dip for veggies & scoops. I wanted to use the Tastefully Simple Garlic Garlic sample I received at the party last weekend. I searched for a Garlic Ranch dip and found this one on Spark Recipes. Based on the comments at the bottom of the recipe, I changed it a little.

Healthy Garlic Ranch Dip
Ingredients
1 packet ranch dip mix
8 oz light sour cream
8 oz plain lowfat yogurt
1/2 tsp Garlic Garlic (equals about a 1/2 tsp of dried minced garlic) It wasn’t very garlicy. I might use more next time.
Directions
Mix all ingredients together. Chill about half an hour before serving with scoops & veggies.

Kelly’s former coworker, Meghan, was up from Atlanta for the game. Beth was able to tell Meghan in person that she’s pregnant! This photo was taken right after! PS~ Kelly & I aren’t THAT tall. Meghan (4’11”) & Beth (5’1″) are just that petite!
Kelly took a few action photos during the game. Not sure which touchdown this was~yes I happily lost count!

We went out at halftime to visit with Jessica & her boyfriend. One of the boys took this photo with Kelly’s camera. I’m blaming beer & camera phone for the blurriness!
Hope everyone else’s teams did well this weekend too!

Thankful on a Thursday

So I’ve always wanted & usually mean to jump on The Outdoor Wife‘s Thankful on a Thursday bandwagon. I love reading others posts on Thursdays. They are so inspiring & humbling. I feel like it’s something I need to remember~ that I do have things really well & I need to be more thankful. So on that note, here’s my first ever Thankful on a Thursday.

*I’m thankful for the beginning of fall & all that entails: cooler temperatures, enjoying candy pumpkins, fall decorating, 3/4 length sleeve sweaters, & most exciting to me, College Football begins! I love that our weekends get packed with either attending NCSU home games or spending the Saturday at home watching all the games. I’m even going to throw out a Go Cocks tonight since they are the first game! (That’s for you Mrs Sara!)

*I’m thankful for the mail because it delivered my new Gussy headband & clutch today! I’m wearing the headband to work tomorrow & will be proudly carrying the clutch with that awesome red ruffle to the game Saturday.

*I’m thankful for friends. My awesome online buddies, even ones I’ve never met but look forward to reading their blog posts & tweets daily. A group of college friends that are now lifetime friends. I’ll be tailgating with them Sat {can you tell I’m excited about it!} and we’ve planned a girls happy hour for next Thurs to celebrate engagements! I’m so thankful for my work friends~ the ladies I look forward to seeing every morning. The same ones that make crazy days not so bad at all. *And* I found out today that one of my favorites from when I worked in claims got a position in my current department! I’m so looking forward to seeing a lot more of her soon!

*I’m also thankful for my family. My first thought of family being Jason & Moekitty. Jason’s been awesome through the ups & downs of us TTC. It’s been stressful for us both recently but that’s its own blog post {saved in draft for now}. My extended family has been in my thoughts a lot recently as my 4 grandparents are aging & facing health issues. That’s its own blog post also. But for now, I’d love it if you keep my mom’s parents in your prayers. I know I’ll be there a lot more soon & I’m sure I’ll be posting about it later.

I think I’ll leave off with that for now. What are you thankful for this Thursday?!

Wish List Wednesday

So I was planning to do a wish list Wednesday post because I love reading them on others blogs. But since I did a little shopping/winning last night & today, I thought I’d share what’s on the way to me!

I won this diaper clutch from Bird E Studio by guessing what Erika was doing last night. {The answer was going to a quilting class!} I plan to use it as a clutch within my purse for now, but I think it’ll be awesome to have once I’m a mom too. Erika made it so that it perfectly fits 2 disposable diapers & a small wipes case.

I’ve been an admirer of all things Gussy for a while now. Maggie’s products are featured a few blogs I love, her blog & her products are so cool & she seems so sweet on twitter (she’s @gussysews). I signed up for her newsletter & received a 15% off coupon code this week. I was wearing a grey top today & I thought it was boring. I remembered she just mentioned these limited addition grey ruffle headbands recently that would be great with my outfit. She’d taken them down from the store, but after I tweeted her she put a few back up so I could buy one! How cute is this?! Later this afternoon, I went back to Gussy & was lusting over this precious umbrella clutch with the red ruffle. Red= perfect to take to NCSU football games! Well, my 15% of worked again & she gave me discounted shipping for 2 items, so I was sold!

I can’t wait to receive my fun new handmade products! I love supporting awesome ladies!

My other purchase today was thanks to a recommendation from World’s Best Cat Litter via twitter (@bestcatlitter) after I was kinda bitching last week about Moe & his litter situation. If you don’t remember from this post, I love the “greeness” of WBCL, that it’s flushable & that it’s made with corn so I don’t worry if Moe licks his paws after stepping through it. I was slack last week & didn’t clean the box very often. As a result, it was smelling & kinda cloughed up the toilet. Anyways, WBCL told me to try the multi cat clumping formula. I was so excited they wrote me back! I went to Petco for cat food & bought the multi cat litter (only $7.99 after using a $3 off coupon). I plan to add it into the existing litter this weekend.

In case anyone cares, I wasn’t given anything for making this post. I’m just sharing my excitement over these products.
