Sick of all the Sickness

I vented some working mom frustration on having sick kiddos on Liberating Working Moms today.

So far in January, between Lucy, Zach, my husband & I, we’ve had bad colds {negative for flu & RSV} along with pink eye, then RSV for both babies & double ear infections for Lucy while my husband had the flu & then a {thankfully only} 24 hour stomach bug.

Out of the 21 working days in January, I’ve worked 12 full days. Twelve y’all. That’s almost less than half.

Join me over on LWM to read the rest of Sick of the Sick.

And as a quick update, we went back to the pediatrican’s office {again} this morning for them to recheck Lucy’s ears. And they were infections free!!!!!

Struggling with Solids

For the last month & a half, I’ve added a disaster to our nightly routine. The babies mostly hate it. It makes a huge mess. It’s time consuming when I have no extra time. My husband usually isn’t even home to help this disaster.

What’s happened to our busy-but-we-got-this routine? We’ve been introducing solids to Zach & Lucy.

I delayed starting solids for my preemies based on our thoughts & our pediatricians’ recommendations. But right after their 6 month checkup, I bought a box of Earth’s Best rice cereal, excitedly mixed it up with breast milk, grabbed my cell phone camera & got ready to experience the babies’ first taste of food. Not shockingly, they hated it & spit it out. That was Nov 28th.

Fast forward to this week & things aren’t much better.

Jump over to Liberating Working Moms to read the rest {& see a funny photo of Lucy & Zach from last night’s eating attempt}. And please add any advice you have to offer in the comments!

Happy New Year 2013!

Welcome 2013! Hope it’s started out with a bang if you wanted it & a silent night in my house!

I plan to do a 2012 recap soon of my favorite posts of the year. But for now, check out my {& the other LWM contributors} working mom resolutions.

To that list, I want to add making my marriage & adult connection with my husband a priority. Our life as a couple has taken a backseat to us being parents of two babies. I’m resolving to work on getting us back in 2013.

Do you have or make new year’s resoutions? Feel free to link up on LWM if you do!

Working with Style

Today’s my debut post joining the others on Liberating Working Moms in the Working with Style meme.

I’m sharing my new nursing mom style. Lots of my old favorite pants have made it into rotation {now that they fit again!} with tanks & few new things mixed in. Hope you’ll join me over on LWM.

Busy Life, Quiet Blog

Things are quiet on the ole blog this week. Not because things aren’t happening in our household but maybe because they are.

The last couple weeks have happily been busy ones. Ones filled with our first big family trip for Thanksgiving with my extended family {for which there’s a post in draft waiting for me to have time to download then upload the photos}. Then getting used to going back to work & no longer being able to sleep in, & then my husband’s family came up this past weekend for a visit. Last weekend, we took the babies to meet Santa for the first time. Again, when I get those pictures online, I’ll post them because it’s hilariously too cute.

This week, I’m taking photos of my outfits to get ready to host Working with Style on Liberating Working Moms next Monday. Join me in taking photos where you can {office bathroom FTW!} & link up Monday!

My parents are coming down this weekend to help get our house decorated for Christmas. I tried to decorate a little on my own last Saturday but instead just dumped a box full of candles & snowmen on a table before I ran out of the house to tacky Christmas sweater party instead. I’ll take a ton of photos I’m sure as we pick out the babies’ first tree & I’ll try to post those soon too.

Also stick around for a couple of reviews & giveaways to come in the next couple of weeks! Much like life now, Suz’s Treats won’t be quiet for long.
