Project 365 Week 8

I usually try to get this post up Saturday, but somehow it didn’t happen.  Also I’ve decided to not stress out if I miss a day or two instead of taking another random photo of Moe.

Day 50:  Saturday I went to Charlotte.  I snuggled with triplet babies, but since y’all’ve already seen those photos, here’s one from Saturday night which I haven’t had a chance to post about yet.  Below is the bottom of the sangria pitcher.  Don’t you worry, most of that fruit was eaten!!

Day 51:  This photo is still from Saturday night’s girl night, but since it was taken around 3am, I’m calling it my Day 51 photo.  Y’all it was a good night which made for a bit of a rough morning.  But I still  made it to church & brunch with Papa before heading back to Raleigh.

Day 52:  Monday night was Small Group where I told my church friends about our IF & asked for prayers for my HSG procedure.  I got home & relaxed while finishing Shanghai Girls.  Moe curled up on my legs and I demanded nicely asked Jason to snap a quick photo.

Day 53: Tuesday was the HSG day.  I asked y’all for a couple requests that morning.  I didn’t take a photo then or while I was laying on the couch.

Day 54: Wednesday was another not do anything special day.  I posted about my HSG experience.

Day 55:  Thursday was busy!  I went right after work to meet baby Reagan.  After giving congrats hugs to the new parents & snuggles to her, I headed off to enjoy some wine & dips with Chi O Alum sisters.  I love how this photo shows Emily holding Reagan, while her husband Dan looks on & new dad Dave eats Beth’s dinner.

Day 56:  Friday after work I ran by ChickFila to get Jason dinner & me a lemonade.  I had one thing in mind.  A Firefly drink!

How was your week?

Meet Reagan

I met my good friends Beth & Dave’s baby girl Thursday night.  Remember Beth & her fabulous shower?!  Yeah baby Reagan is even more fabulous!!!

I’d never held a baby so new.  Less than 36 hours old!  I loved every second.  While I was holding little Reagan, two little feet popped out.  So Daddy Dave re-swaddled her. Y’all at 5 lb 11oz the newborn outfit was too big & her arms & legs had escaped. I grabbed the camera to capture it as Mom & Dad got her all settled again.

Beth did want me to photo her {although y’all she looked so wonderful too}.  But her holding, snuggling, kissing on Reagan was so sweet.

As I was heading out to the Chi O Dinner Club, Dan & Emily arrived.  Reagan had just fallen asleep in my arms & continued to sleep in Emily’s so I took a few photos then too.

Chi O Dinner Club

Last night, after meeting baby Reagan for the first time {blog post to come tomorrow}, I joined 4 other Chi O alum sisters at a dip themed dinner club.  I planned to make a crock pot spinach & artichoke dip.  Instead, I didn’t have time & picked up Whole Foods spinach & artichoke dip, black bean hummus, pretzel chips & a couple of bottles of wine!  I brought home 2 bottles of wine, some of the pretzels chips & the hummus.  That spinach artichoke dip was amazing!

Rhiannon made her signature Buffalo Chicken dip {aka crack dip for the nest girls}.  Lauren made a spinach dip.  Erin made a beer dip that was unlike anything I’d had before {I’ll share that recipe when I get it}.  Jennifer brought strawberries, grapes, & a wonderful cream cheese dessert dip.

Also, $2.99 Whole Foods wine was good y’all!  I took a photo of it just to remind myself to get it again next time.

HSG Experience

I know a good number of women who’ve dealt with IF.  A good friend at work, a college friend, & a few internet turned IRL friends.  I am so thankful that I spoke with them all before my HSG.  They told me their thoughts, experiences & recommendations.  Because I got so much out of being prepared, I’m putting this out here in case it can help anyone else be ready for an HSG.

The poor woman in line in front of me at the RE had no clue.  She was by herself, annoyed that she had to fill out paperwork & wait, and told the receptionist she had to go pick up her kid 30 mins away soon after.  That lady, she needed some of my friends.  I, on the other hand, felt very prepared.  I was ready for worst case senaro.  Jason was there to drive me, I’d taken the rest of the day off work, changed into yoga pants, socks & a Tshirt, and taken 4 Advil.

They had me empty my bladder before I went back {do people pee on the doctor? I didn’t wanna find out} then undress from the waist down {I kept on my socks}.  Dr C came in & I met her for the first time {Hi I’m half naked Suz, welcome to my lady parts}.  She was awesome though!  So nice & explained everything before she did it.  Dr C had a hard time getting the spaghetti noodle sized tube {her words} up & said might need to dilate me but since it’s very painful, she’d try just releasing the dye.  Thankfully enough dye was able to get though, into the ute & up & over & out both sides.  Awesomely it worked!  Clear tubes!  Successful test! I have to say I yelped as it was going through & the nurse held my hand.  It was about as painful as I expected {thanks to my friends explanations}.  A tear or two might have also escaped.  But it was kinda cool to see my ute on the ray machine.  I stayed on the table for a minute after to recover.  Then cleaned myself up, got dressed, & paid my $50 copay.  I hobbled to the car {the pain & megapad made it a little difficult to walk normally}.  I had a little gift medicine {thanks Speed!}waiting for me in the car.  I swallowed that with a Wendy’s Frosty on the way home.  I was able to curl up on the couch for the rest of the night.

I woke up Wednesday still a little crampy, slept in then took some more advil and went into work.  By yesterday afternoon, I was feeling pretty normal.  Today I feel 99% fine.  So long story short, it was painful, but it’s totally worth it to know that my ute/tubes are clear!  We go back next Tuesday for the results for all three tests & to see what Dr P recommends for us.  Thanks to all who were thinking/praying for us with this test.  I really appreciate it.

Three Requests

Did you see my blog post below with photos of those cute triplets?! Their awesome health is due a lot to their amazing Mom & Dad but also March of Dimes! I’m walking alongside Jenny & her miracle family April 30th in the March for Babies. I {& March of Dimes} would love your support. Check out the widget on the right for the link to my page & where you can easily make a donation. Even $5 is awesome!!

Have you also seen the newest button on the right?! I’m going to BLOGHER!!! Yes, y’all I’m that excited. My first blog conference! I’m not even sure my little place of the internet is “big” enough for me to be going. But I know I’ll learn & grow & I just can’t wait to meet or reconnect with some of my blogging favs. I’m rooming with the lovely Alena from Charmingly Chandler, & we’re hoping to find two more roomies. I think Alena might’ve lined up another. So my second request, if you’re planning on going, let me know so I can look for you there! And if you’re looking for a roomie or know someone who is, let me know too. 🙂

Lastly, today at 2:15p is my HSG. I’m getting nervous. I’d love to hear what yours was like if you had one & how long it took to recover. Also, if you’re of the praying type & feel so led, I’d be honored if you’d say a quick prayer for the doctors in charge of the test. I asked for prayer request at my small group meeting last night. I hadn’t spoken up about my infertility yet, but I already feel more calm just knowing that those spiritual friends know what’s going on & will be throwing prayers up today for us.

Thanks for reading if you got to the end of this post & also if you feel led about my requests!
