12 Week Appointment

Monday’s appt was short & sweet. It took us longer to get there & back than it lasted but that’s ok.
They did the appt normal: pee in a cup, weigh me, take my blood pressure {all good}. Then we met with the doctor. Have I mentioned how comfortable with are with him. He’s awesome. He asked how we were doing & answered all my questions. {Of course once I got home I remembered more questions I’d forgotten to ask but nothing that can’t wait.}
Next up? Ultrasound number six! Sadly, after he was finished I realized we’d been too enthralled with watching the babies to remember to take a photo & he hadn’t printed out any. šŸ™ They were able to do the yummy ultrasound & we could see all three. As usually A was a bit of the camera hog rolling around & showing off. The dr deemed A the “wiggle worm” because it was moving so much that he had to take a minute to get the heart beat {which was in the 160s}. Baby B & C were more chill. Baby B looked a little squished & still had a heartbeat in the 180s while baby C’s was also in the 160s. Doctor wasn’t alarmed that C’s heartbeat was a little high.
We have a three week break from doctor’s appointments {the longest we’ve gone so far without seeing the babies}. We go back Jan 9th but will be busy with Christmas & New Years & getting back to work until then, so I know the time will fly by. Fingers crossed that we can finally tell boy/girl parts at that 15 week check up! If not, then we’ll definitely know at the 18 week anatomy scan Jan 31st!

Project 365

Fifty weeks into project 365.

Day 344: Papa putting the finishing touches on his Christmas tree.

Merry Charlotte Christmas!

Day 345: Love these two photos of Sarah & Cheryl from our ABBA You Can Dance party.

They were feelin' the 70s tunes!

Day 346: We finally finished decorating our Christmas trees!

It looks like Christmas now at our house.

Day 347: My coworkers had birthday’d up my cube Monday morning. I broke down some of the decor Tuesday morning.

Pretty cube, right?

Day 348: Wednesday night was my Chi O alum cookie exchange. So much fun & look at the cookie loot I took home {& then to work}!

Janie grabbing cookies, sisters & new friends chatting, my loot, Uno {he's trying to be as big as Moe}, the drinks, Nicole & I, & the end of the party food counter.

Day 349: I arrived home after a {sober Suz} coworker happy hour & couldn’t not snap this photo of Moekitty in our doorway.

I love that Moe was looking up at the lights.

Day 350: After six {busy} photographed days in a row. I gloriously did nothing Friday night & didn’t take any photos.

Hope you had a great week!

Twelve Weeks!

I’ve been meaning to post about our high-res/NT scan ultrasound from last Monday. But a crazy busy week got in my way. To summarize: Pregnancy brain hit & we were a half hour late {we had genetic counselor appt at 830 & U/S appt at 9, I just remembered the 9a appt time}, so we hung out in the lobby for a while & read a pregnancy magazine cover-to-cover, counselor was nice, ultrasound tech got impatient that babies B & C weren’t cooperating for the NT measurement=pain as she jabbed me, finally got measurements from A & C, all was better once we saw doctor who assured us babies looked awesome.

Photos of the ultrasound photos~ 11w2d A, B & C

I received a call midweek saying our babies chances for trisomy 13 & 18 were less than 1/10,000 & for Down’s less than 1/3382. So we’re happy.

I snapped these photos after I got home from the Tacky Sweater Party last night {I’ll post photos from there later}. The white top & sweater are non-maternity, & the top was too short with the belly to not wear a tank underneath! That grey blur in the bottom right of the photo was Moekitty walking into his bathroom for a potty break!

Twelve Weeks in Tacky Christmas amazingness!

How far along? 12w1d.

Maternity clothes? Absolutely for pants. I’m wearing my normal tops & sweaters for now while I still can.

Weight Gain? I’ll find out tomorrow at my check up but I’d think so.

Stretch Marks? No.

Sleep? Pretty good as I roll side-to-side in between getting up to pee.

Movement? They’re moving but I can’t feel it yet.

Genders? We hope & pray for healthy babies first & foremost. But I’d love to have boy/girl combos. Just a hunch but I kinda think B is a girl.

What I Miss? The ability to run around & have a super busy week & not be exhausted at the end of it. Doing something every night this past week kicked my butt. I’m learning I must slow my life down.

Symptoms? See above. Tired & hungry. But loving this pregnancy.

What I’m Looking Forward to? This week I’ve told work & just today announced this pregnancy on facebook. I’m glad everyone knows now & I can celebrate it openly. I’m looking forward to my appointment tomorrow for another chance to see the babies then a weekend with family & friends celebrating Christmas.

Weekly Wisdom? Drink plenty of water, enjoy all those Christmas cookies but remember to eat normal food too or you’ll wake up from a nap feeling like shit.

Milestones? Twelve weeks! Almost out of the first trimester! The babies are the size of limes this week. Their reflexes are developing including their hands opening & closing, mouths beginning to suck, toes curling & eye muscles clenching!

ABBA You Can Dance

I received an email from Clever Girls & Ubisoft a while ago announcing they were looking for UbiChamps {like me!} to try out their new ABBA You Can Dance game for Wii. They recommended the reviewer having a 70s theme party to celebrate at the beginning of December. Since I knew my 30th birthday would coincide with this idea, I jumped at the chance to try the game. Of course at the time, I didn’t know I was pregnant times three & would be pretty exhausted by mid-December.

But when the disco ball & game arrived, I got excited! I planned for a low-key dinner out with friends on my birthday then invited them back here for a Wii ABBA You Can Dance party. My sweet hubby set it all up the night before & later admitted he couldn’t help but try out the game for himself {& set a few high scores}.

I was planning to just sit out & watch {& take photo evidence} of my friends jamming to ABBA’s greatest hits, but I couldn’t resist.

My friends can dance!

The 18 years of dance classes in me couldn’t miss shaking it a little to Dancing Queen {the prom version} as well as a duet with Sarah.

Cheryl & Sarah breaking it down & then the babies & I took a spin.

We took a break for water & birthday cake before playing another couple of rounds.

My house might be messy & tree half decorated, but the disco ball & game made the party!

I was pleasantly surprised how well the game picked up on our moves while just holding the controller in our right hands. And I got so excited when I saw “PERFECT” or “GOLD MOVE” show up on the TV!

After telling my mom about the game, I’m planning to carry it with me up to their house for Christmas. I really can’t wait to see my family shaking it to ABBA too {we might have to organize a four then four challenge to see who gets the highest points}.

If you have a Wii {or maybe hoping Santa brings you one for Christmas}, keep this game in mind. The 26 ABBA hits vary in speed & you can have a great time no matter what dance level or skills you may have. I haven’t tried out the Karaoke setting yet but I know that would be hilarious! I was very blessed to have Ubisoft mail me ABBA You Can Dance for Wii, but you can purchase it online or at your local ToysRUs {a store I’ll soon be very familiar with I suspect!} or on Amazon too.

Thank you to Ubisoft for sponsoring this blog post. Please click here to learn more about Ubisoft. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

Happy {late} birthday to me!

Sunday was my 30th birthday. Thank you to all those who helped make me feel special with birthday tweets, FB comments, emails, texts & phone calls!

Sunday morning was spent with my grandfather & aunt in Charlotte along with a special quick visit with my friend B. Brunch was delicious at Papa’s clubhouse, and then Sue & I headed back home.

I arrived back in Raleigh in time to opening birthday cards that I’d held off opening when they arrived in the mail and run to the grocery store before meeting friends for a laid back birthday dinner. Some of the girls came back to the house for birthday cake & Wii {post to come on that tomorrow}.

Feelin' Good at 30!

Work decorated my cube with streamers, balloons & a birthday sign Monday morning.Ā ThatĀ was so funĀ to see when I got back from our appt {which I promise to write about & share photos from soon!}. I also decided Monday that I’d share my “I’m pregnant time three” news. Everyone’s been really cute & excited for us.

Monday night, husband & I and another of our favorite couples went to dinner at Cheesecake Factory after I sadly learned that NoFo was closed on Monday nights. My dinner was delicious & it & my keylime cheesecake that I got to go were fun for dinner last night too.

As usual, I was spoiled my family & friends. My beach grandparents had given me a Pandora bracelet & cat charm as an early b-day gift Thanksgiving weekend. Jason gave me two clips for it as well as some Loft maternity clothes {that I’d bought on their cyber Mon sale}. I combined birthday checks from Papa & my parents & ordered a Kindle Fire last night! I’m so excited & think it’ll come in handy for nursing, hospital time, bedrest, etc. My sweet MIL & friend B were thinking alike about my love of Lilly & both gave me {totally different} Lilly Murphee scarves! I’ve been wearing them all week. Other friends gave me a gift certificate to my favorite mani/pedi place {yay for relaxing!} & another sweet friend gave me a Gap gift card for some maternity clothes. Spoiled y’all & I know it.

Hope you’re having a great week!
