TTC Cycle 5

Now that I’m 10 days into cycle 6, I just realized I never posted my cycle 5 chart. Clearly it wasn’t too exciting. I also discovered I had a {let’s just say a not-so-fun TMI} infection at the end of that cycle. I’m better now thanks to antibiotics!
But I digress. We connected & are still having fun trying at least! Being out of town one weekend together (but with a lot of family) then the following two weekends apart made this cycle tough. I was actually at the beach with my work girls the last weekend. I peed on a stick on 7 DPO ~ it was negative. I knew that was early to test, but I was off to the beach with my work girls & still planning to drink it up so I thought I’d check. I drank & had a great time! When my temps dropped on that Sunday morning, I knew my period was coming & this cycle was a bust.No real travel or vacations planned during this cycle so maybe that’ll help. Oh & when I went to the gyno last week, I mentioned charting & my short LPs. She wasn’t so concerned with that, but did recommend we have sex more often! She said every other day starting around day 10 & keeping that up til CD 20! Jason starts his new round-the-clock work schedule next week, so we’ll see how those two things will go together! Guess we’ll see! Here’s hoping for a end of Apr or beginning of May ’11 baby!

Easy Dinners

We’ve been trying to cook & eat in more recently. We haven’t always succeeded (we got take out from Manchesters tonight~ so good!), but Jason loved our dinner Tuesday night so I thought I’d share. Husband actually said it was in the top three meals I’d made (along with jar spaghetti with Trader Joe’s meatballs & Shannon’s Chicken~ he’s not high maintainence with food!).

Wondering what I made?! {This is almost embrassing!} I got the idea from the back of the Shake N Bake Barbecue Glaze box~ add 3 tbsp brown sugar & 1/2 tsp ground red pepper (cayenne) to the Shake N Bake mix. I used Target boneless, skinless breats. I served it with Kraft from the box MacNCheese & frozen Green Giant veggies. I have to admit, the chicken was REALLY good! The brown sugar gave a little sweetness while the cayenne pepper added quite a kick! Jason, who doesn’t do leftovers, actually had the third breast yesterday for lunch. I meant to take a photo to share, but we ate it too quick!
So if you’re looking for a quick, VERY easy chicken dish, try it!

My mom also gave me an easy recipe when I was home that my aunt made for them at the beach. It’s just a few mostly on hand ingredients & vegetarian. I hope to try it soon!

Black Bean Pasta
Ingredients
pasta
2 cans black beans, drained
1 can Rotel tomatoes
green pepper & onion, chopped
green olives, sliced
bay leaf, oregano, garlic salt, or other spices of your choice to your taste
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp vinegar
Directions
Bring all ingredients to a boil then simmer for 30 minutes. Serve over your favorite al dente pasta.

What’s your go-to EASY meal?

Momma’s Munchies Chicken

I’m actually making it for Momma’s Munches this week! I didn’t do one for the last couple of weeks because I didn’t have any steak or pork or grillin’ recipes (I don’t eat pork or beef). But today’s recipe theme is chicken or seafood. While I LOVE seafood, for some reason, I don’t make it often. Chicken though is our stand by. Here are some of our other favorite chicken recipes: Creamy Chicken Enchiladas, Pineapple Crockpot Chicken, Sister-in-law’s Awesome Chicken Casserole, Poppyseed Chicken Casserole, Chicken Bruscheyta Bake, Crockpot Salsa Chicken, Crockpot Chicken Stuffing, Chicken Enchilada Casserole, Chicken Cranberry Ranch (love this one!), Crescent Roll Chicken (aka Shannon’s Chicken).

Here’s a recipe from my mom that I’ve been meaning to make but haven’t yet.
Everyday Broccoli Cheese Chicken
Ingredients
1 tbsp butter/margarine
4 chicken breasts
1 can Campbell’s broccoli cheese soup
1/3 c water/milk
1/8 tsp pepper
2 c broccoli flowerets
Directions
In skillet over medium heat, melt margarine then cook chicken for 10 minutes, or browned on both sides. Spoon off the fat.
Stir in the soup, water & pepper. Heat to boiling. Add broccoli. Reduce heat to low. Cover; simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until chicken is fork-tender & broccoli done.
Makes approximately 4 servings. Prep 5 mins. Cook 25 mins.

If you want to link up for this week, go check out Sara’s newly beautified blog Mrs. and Mr. and check back weekly at Waking Up Williams. Next week is Mexican. I’m in for that one too!

Pet Blog Hop

In the spirit of the wedding blog hop & tattoo blog hop (which I missed since I’m tattoo-less), some awesome blogger buddies came up with the Pet Blog Hop.

Meet Moe (taken from my phone while he was cudding on the couch with me last week). I discussed Moekitty in a few posts of his own before. Here’s where I showed yall his love of my sandals. I couldn’t find the remote one night & here’s why.

I’m at work and this is the only photo I had save on my work computer (it’s from him cuddling with Jason on the couch last year) of Moekitty, the 17.8ish pound of fluff that shares our couch & bed!

Moe’s pretty lazy. Sometimes he gets back in bed or stays in bed even after we get up. He didn’t like that I was photographing his laziness that day.
He’s a pretty long & big cat (not just fat) as seen stretching here.
This pictures from the fall. This is before he decided that his blue best friend the wubba was tasty.
He loves to stare out the back doors into the yard. There’s a neighborhood outdoor cat that occasionally comes to visit Moe at this back door. When that happens they both jump at the door. I’m not sure if its fighting or excitment (I vote the first).
I actually was a bad cat mom this morning and forgot to feed him before I left for work. As you can tell by the photos, he’ll be ok missing a meal! I know he’ll be waiting by the door when I get home to lead me over to his bowl to let me know though!

This is a blog hop so feel free to add your blog about your favorite pet below. Check back at Cole’s First Blog to see what will be next month’s hop!

Honest Scrap Award

Much thanks to Girl with the Curlz for giving me the Honest Scrap award. I was very happily suprised when I was reading her blog on reader earlier this week and (1) she reads my blog & (2) even better~ she thinks its cool enough to give me an award! So ten things about me:
1- I’ve always been a dog lover growing up & still love dogs, but now that we have a cat & see how easy they are, I don’t ever see us owning a dog.
2- I love the beach. I’m the most relaxed there with a book in hand listening to friends/family catching up & the sounds of the waves.
3- I’ve recently become a fan of the show Trueblood. Jason & I are catching up with it on netflix & we’re both addicted. I’m now reading the books too.
4- I love wearing bright colors. This week I’ve worn pink, red, yellow, coral tops. I threw in one black top but wore it with black & white searsucker dress pants.
5- Husband & I are TTC. We just started cycle 6 this week. That will be its own post later though.
6- I love to bake. I wish I loved to cook, but that can get me a little frazzled where as baking relaxes me.
7- My DVR is filled right now with random reality shows Husband doesn’t wanna watch like Big Brother, Real World, The Little Couple & I Didn’t Know I was Pregnant. I hope I get a chance this weekend while he’s working or doing yard work to clear them off.
8- I could eat pizza or Italian food everyday. I don’t but we do usually have something pizza like weekly.
9- I can’t wait for the holidays! I saw a Christmas in July sales sign and got excited just thinking about Christmas shopping & decorating.
10- I love deals! I was thisclose to buying a few things on vineyard vines yesterday because they were 60% off. They were cute, but I didn’t really need them so I passed.

I’m passing on this award to…
Emily at If I Can’t Wear Heels…
Annie Beth at Classic Annie
Alena at Charmingly Chandler
Lauren & her mom at Through the Eyes of Lauren
