2WW Thoughts One Week In

Today marks one week into my 20th cycle TTC’s dreaded two week wait.

I had some unknown & unexplained CM & spotting last weekend that left me uncertain & even a little afraid. I was thinking, did I ovulate when the shot was supposed to make me? Is this because of Friday’s second Ovridrel shot? Am I just dehydrated? Is something wrong & I’m already getting my period 3 days later? Really it doesn’t take much to make this TTC girl’s mind start spinning. {if you have any idea what this could, let me know!}

But by Sunday, things had gone away or cleared up. I’ve been doing the progestrone supps {yes, even while rooming with strangers friends at BlogHer}. They’re a mess, but by now I’m used to the progesterone & I really believe they help.

You’d think with all that’s going on in running around & traveling this week that I’d have this 2WW pushed waaaay into the back of my mind. I have to say, yes it has definitely helped the days quickly pass. I haven’t had time to focus on all the little crazies that come with the 2WW {is that twing implantation? bloating bc too many diet cokes today or pregnancy? the list can go on}. But that doesn’t mean I don’t know exactly what dpO I am {8 since you asked} & when I’ll be able to poas {probably beginning of the week once I’m back home}.

Fingers crossed that AF doesn’t show up in the rest of my time in San Diego {especially not while I’m wearing my khaki skirt!} & that I’ll be able to make & go to a beta appointment next Wednesday.

Woohoo!

I’m all packed up & ready to go! Polka dot suitcase, book club book to read on the plane, Gussy laptop bag, & Jo Totes Rose as DSLR bag & purse.

If you’re going to BlogHer & see me tomorrow night in San Diego, I’ll be wearing/rolling/carrying this! I didn’t plan to go with a black/white travel theme but I guess so. I’m going to make up for it with my pink & melon the rest of the week I promise!

I’m not sure how much blogging I’ll be able to do this week, but I’m sure to be tweeting away via @suzstreats. You can also try to keep up with the #blogher11 hashtag on twitter {it’s already out of control}. I’ll try to do a few FB & G+ updates too. Have a great week!

Catching Fire

Catching Fire After flying through The Hunger Games, I put a desperate call out for the second book in the series, Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. My brother luckily had the book & gave it to me before his wedding shower. I started reading on our way back from VA & even with a busy week of work & TTC, I finished it by Friday.

I’d love to tell y’all everything about Catching Fire & why I enjoyed it, but I also don’t want to spoil it for anyone. I hate it when I know what’ll happen before I even open the book thanks to reading or hearing about it elsewhere. So yeah, this is a post to say that you should just take my word on it. You’ll enjoy the action, the young adult romance, & the family dynamics. What I enjoyed about the first book is somewhat repeated in the second book, but it didn’t come across as boring or repetitive. And while I didn’t speed-read it quite as quick as the first in the series, once you read Hunger Games you’re going to HAVE to know what happens next as I did.

Now I’m already a third of the way through Mockingjay & I can’t figure out how they’re going to wrap the whole series up with just 260 pages left to go.

Project 365 Week 29

Day 204: Saturday dress shopping before the shower. Ignore my funny faces. Y’all like the dress on the right better than the other ones, yes? Davids Bridal Bridesmaid Dresses

Day 205: We drove home Sunday {I read Catching Fire the whole way} then grabbed dinner together at our favorite Mexican restaurant. No photo taken.

Day 206: I was wearing a cute outfit Monday & planned to take photo of it when I got home. Instead it POURED as I ran down the hill of our parking lot in three inch wedges & looked like I’d been in a wet t-shirt contest when I got home. No photo.

Day 207: Tuesday night neither of us felt like cooking so off we went to Jason’s Deli. Can’t beat the free froyo!

Day 208: Wednesday morning was O day which meant I was in a lot of pain. Moe & I staying in bed until 10:30a & even then he wasn’t ready to get up. Moe kitty

Day 209: Thursday night I went last minute with free tickets to the Amy Grant/Michael W Smith concert with two friends from Bible Study. I knew I wouldn’t know the majority of the songs but knew the three of us would have fun catching up. I ended up knowing & enjoying it even more than I was expecting. Not my typical style of music, but it was so very inspiring & uplifting being in beautiful place surrounded by so many Christians.

Day 210: After seeing friends tweet all day about receiving their BlogHer badges, I quickly picked up dry cleaning & a new library book after work then ran to our mailbox! I was in luck ~ look what arrived! BlogHer Badge

Which ones your favorite?

Showering with Love

Last weekend Jason & I traveled up to VA for the weekend. The occasion? My brother & his fiance’s first wedding couples shower thrown by some my parents’ oldest local friends.

First though, Saturday morning, mom, Nana, my aunt Sue & I met Beth, her SIL Emily & her MoH Lauren at David’s Bridal for bridesmaids dresses. I found two dresses I liked but didn’t order anything. Beth is letting us pick our dresses as long as they are “latte” colored. She’s also suggested a couple of Nordstorm dresses so Mom & our group headed there. The first {& only dress} I tried on was this Adrianna Pappel one {but in brown which I can no longer find online}. Beth had actually emailed us suggesting this one too. I bought it on the spot. $138 & no alterations!

On to the shower! We arrived at 6:30p & appetizers were already out & friends were beginning to arrive. Beth & Steven quickly gave the fabulous hostesses candles as thank-you gifts. Lots of catching up with old friends, meeting new people & hearing more wedding details.

Even though it was around 100 degrees, this back yard had such pretty views {& beer} that people still gathered on the porch. It was wonderful to have both families together. Of course I realize now that while we took photos of the families separately, we don’t have one of all the families together {next time!}.

The dinner that followed included bbq, potato salad, cole slaw, cold vegetable salad, baked beans & mixed fruit. Yummy dessert was strawberries & brownies with chocolate fondue.

Steven & Beth opened a ton of great gifts & the open second floor walkway worked great for photos!

Once gifts were opened & things had cooled down a little more outside, we all went out back for attempted golf shots into the lake, corn hole games & lots of chatting.

Looking forward to gathering again to continue the pre-wedding celebrations with another couples shower honoring the happy couple in Sept.
