Eat Pray Love

I went to see that movie tonight with a group of very fun & super nice girls. The group is more my friend Beth’s friends. I’d met a couple of them while at her house while watching The Bachelorette this season, but some I met for the first time tonight. We first grabbed dinner and some of us a quick beer at Fox & Hound. The food was good & so was the conversation, but our waitress not so much. Beth & I ended up leaving to get the rest of us seats, another two bought tickets, & the remaining ones waited for our bills & forged our signatures. Needless to say, she didn’t get great tips from us (aka Nicole!).But the movie, it was good! I’d heard the locations were fabulous & they were. Italy was cool, but even stuffed as a I was from my chicken wrap, that pasta, the buy-bigger-jeans pizza, the wine! I loved this scene. Does that look yummy & cool?! {borrowed photo from here}

The pray part was the slowest for me (I remembered it being that way for me in the book also), but I loved the elephant scene & Richard from TX. I’m like her that I’d never have the patience grace whatever you call it to be silent! God would call me to be the Suzie Cream Puff greeter too! {borrowed from here}

But Bali, it was worth seeing to movie to get to the Love part. The scenery there was amazing. I doubt I’ll make it there, but I’d certainly love to! {borrowed from here gotta love google image!}
I thought Julia Roberts was great. I just love her & pretty much all the movies she makes. I’m also a sucker for a good ending!

I’m finishing my night with a little baking…which might incorporate a little of Eat (breakfast & late night snack anyone?) Pray (I don’t burn them like I did last weekend’s muffins) & Love (its almost midnight & I’m baking for my husband). I promised him that I’d make muffins for us to have for breakfast tomorrow. His breakfast being around 3 hours from now since he goes into work at 4am this weekend. He’d be fine if I didn’t make them, but he would probably stop at McDonald’s. And while not made from scratch, Duncan Hines 100% whole grain Apple Cinnamon muffins (with a coupon!) are cheap, easy & relatively healthy. The timer just buzzed so I’m off. I’ll try to post a photo of them later too.

Bare Naked Ladies!

I scored two $10 tickets last week to the Bare Naked Ladies concert in town for Saturday night. We thought my hubsband was going to have to work after the show, but now he’s off this weekend. That means I lost my DD but that we can have a fun date night for sure! I spent high school & college loving this band. Been more into country music the last few years, but I’m really looking forward to it! Bare Naked Ladies is one of the bands that Jason & I agree on~ they’re great for road trip & work out tunes! I’ll try to remember my camera so I can share some concert photos & stories later this weekend.

Pet Blog Hop

In the spirit of the wedding blog hop & tattoo blog hop (which I missed since I’m tattoo-less), some awesome blogger buddies came up with the Pet Blog Hop.

Meet Moe (taken from my phone while he was cudding on the couch with me last week). I discussed Moekitty in a few posts of his own before. Here’s where I showed yall his love of my sandals. I couldn’t find the remote one night & here’s why.

I’m at work and this is the only photo I had save on my work computer (it’s from him cuddling with Jason on the couch last year) of Moekitty, the 17.8ish pound of fluff that shares our couch & bed!

Moe’s pretty lazy. Sometimes he gets back in bed or stays in bed even after we get up. He didn’t like that I was photographing his laziness that day.
He’s a pretty long & big cat (not just fat) as seen stretching here.
This pictures from the fall. This is before he decided that his blue best friend the wubba was tasty.
He loves to stare out the back doors into the yard. There’s a neighborhood outdoor cat that occasionally comes to visit Moe at this back door. When that happens they both jump at the door. I’m not sure if its fighting or excitment (I vote the first).
I actually was a bad cat mom this morning and forgot to feed him before I left for work. As you can tell by the photos, he’ll be ok missing a meal! I know he’ll be waiting by the door when I get home to lead me over to his bowl to let me know though!

This is a blog hop so feel free to add your blog about your favorite pet below. Check back at Cole’s First Blog to see what will be next month’s hop!

Honest Scrap Award

Much thanks to Girl with the Curlz for giving me the Honest Scrap award. I was very happily suprised when I was reading her blog on reader earlier this week and (1) she reads my blog & (2) even better~ she thinks its cool enough to give me an award!So ten things about me:
1- I’ve always been a dog lover growing up & still love dogs, but now that we have a cat & see how easy they are, I don’t ever see us owning a dog.
2- I love the beach. I’m the most relaxed there with a book in hand listening to friends/family catching up & the sounds of the waves.
3- I’ve recently become a fan of the show Trueblood. Jason & I are catching up with it on netflix & we’re both addicted. I’m now reading the books too.
4- I love wearing bright colors. This week I’ve worn pink, red, yellow, coral tops. I threw in one black top but wore it with black & white searsucker dress pants.
5- Husband & I are TTC. We just started cycle 6 this week. That will be its own post later though.
6- I love to bake. I wish I loved to cook, but that can get me a little frazzled where as baking relaxes me.
7- My DVR is filled right now with random reality shows Husband doesn’t wanna watch like Big Brother, Real World, The Little Couple & I Didn’t Know I was Pregnant. I hope I get a chance this weekend while he’s working or doing yard work to clear them off.
8- I could eat pizza or Italian food everyday. I don’t but we do usually have something pizza like weekly.
9- I can’t wait for the holidays! I saw a Christmas in July sales sign and got excited just thinking about Christmas shopping & decorating.
10- I love deals! I was thisclose to buying a few things on vineyard vines yesterday because they were 60% off. They were cute, but I didn’t really need them so I passed.

I’m passing on this award to…
Emily at If I Can’t Wear Heels…
Annie Beth at Classic Annie
Alena at Charmingly Chandler
Lauren & her mom at Through the Eyes of Lauren
Jenny at Jennandtonica

Couples Shower Photos

I’d posted a few of the recipes from the couples shower last Saturday night, but I thought I’d share a few photos also of the fun!
You’ll be able to tell the ones we took with our basic digital camera & the ones the sister of the bride took with her good camera! How cute are Matt & Katie!
Here’s my brother & his fiance Beth.The hosts & hostesses with the happy couple!The shower was organized by cocktail hour & appetizers downstairs in the basement & back porch & yard. Then we went upstairs for dinner buffet style. I just realized I didn’t take any photos of the great dinner spread. (I was too busy eating it!) Below is my mom, Beth, & Molly T.
After dinner it was gift time! Since most of the guests are family friends of the groom, I think people tried to get a few “manly” gifts. It was still fun to watch Matt & Katie’s excitement opening gifts. How cute are the two Moms?!We were laughing at that four of us were wearing Jacks or target Jacks when someone took this photo. Can you tell the difference?
Later on in the night I realized I’d taken more & not been in any photos so we took a few of the girls I grew up with and mom/daughter pics. They don’t look alike at all right? And now they’re both 9th grade English teachers since Molly got hired last month!
Matt & Katie, after this event I know everyone’s so looking forward to y’all’s wedding for more fun & celebrating!
