SoftBums Mystery Event

After participating in a #clothdiaper twitter party a while back, I got on a cloth diaper products kicks. I went to a few different websites but had heard and seen a lot about SoftBums online. I saw a tweet about emailing them to do a possible review or event promotion for their new diaper.

So after a glass {or two!} of wine, I emailed! Awesomely they wrote back. I gave them a little more information about me & this blog. They decided that while only a small number of blogs were able to be the review bloggers {which wouldn’t been hard for me since no baby yet!}, they did chose this blog to be one of their reporting bloggers.

So what does this mean to you? Well if you’re interested in cloth diapers, especially Soft Bums & their new mystery product & if you love to win awesome products {including a ipad!}, then go check out their blog at I Love Cloth Diapers. You can also go to the SoftBums site or their youtube site. They will be making the big announcement on all three places! Go there to enter the giveaways! You can also get links to all the reviewing & other reporting blogs at same time. Good luck!

Three Years!

Today three years ago, Jason & I got married! This time 3 years ago we were supposed to leave the reception, but we were having so much fun… dancing and… partying with family & friends that we didn’t leave until an hour later. And with bubbles we were off!The time has just FLOWN by! Jason has a late work schedule this week so we left cards for each other {we don’t really do gifts}. Instead I celebrated my anniversary with Moe’s with my friend Marie! We had a such a great time chatting & catching up. We’ll celebrate a little of the weekend while at the beach with family & plan to do a date night dinner one night next week.

Keepin’ it Real

So I mentioned on twitter last week that I’d written a blog post down on paper at work because I just HAD to get it out of my head. The readers digest version~ it was about feeling like a failure while TTC; the stress & pressure we put on ourselves etc. It was brought about after our attempt at scheduled sex last cycle. I talked over posting it on here with my husband & we agreed it might be better to keep it private. But I wanted to at least let it be known that I don’t always fart rainbows, sunshine & puppies!

My chart this time looks a little different becuase for some fun reason Fertility Friend gave me 5 days of the VIP version the day I got my period. Random? I thought so too. But I took advantage of it. I checked out the different cycle graphs & analyzing tools. {EDIT I saved my VIP version chart as a pdf & it wouldn’t upload. You’re seeing the normal/free version. If you can tell me how to convert a pdf to jpg, you’d be my bff!}

Notice that there are a few days where I didn’t take my temperature or there are open circles. Those days, I was either sleeping in/lazy or woke up late which skews your temps. You might also note that I had mutliples days worth of temps at the same time. I thought my thermometer was broken. It wasn’t. I took my temp at different times & it worked. I guess my body was just being weird.

What ended up coming out of the kind of tough time we went through this cycle is that we’d *try* to stress less, that I wouldn’t throw out all the details of CM & pee sticks; over all we’d try to make it happen this month less stressfully.

Good deal of the (yester)day!

I saw on wral.com’s shopping saver a link & info on this deal. I think its good through Saturday, so you should go too!

I bought a Carmex Moisture Plus in peach (original price $2.99), but I had $1 off coupon so the total came to $2.22. A $2 off next Walgreens purchase coupon printed with my receipt! I tried but couldn’t return the lip stuff & get it for free. Instead I remembered our (3 year!) anniversary is next Wednesday, so I turned around & bought a card ($2.49) & cotton balls ($.99) with the coupon that total came to $1.75! So for a total of $3.97, I brought home new lip gloss, an anniversary card & cotton balls!

I think this is my Thankful on a Thursday for this week~ good deals & websites that tell me about them!

Jenny’s Shower

My friend Jenny is having triplets!! ::pause to let that sink in:: Now squeal with excitement & go check out her blog, jennandtonica.

This past Saturday four of her great friends (Beth Anne, Laura, Sarah (aka @gassmama) & Jen (aka speedglenn)) threw her a shower in Charlotte. Alethea & I left Raleigh around 9 am. We arrived in Charlotte around 11:30a. My parents happened to be in Charlotte last weekend so Alethea & I stopped by my grandmother’s nursing home to say hi. I also used that time to put on make-up. 🙂

We met up with Sara, Katherine & her husband Shon, and Alena her husband Cody & their precious little one Sophia at Brixx. The company & artichoke pizza A & I split was awesome. The heat & my resulting sweatiness, not so much! A & I (mostly me) overheated my car while attempting to dry sweat/cool off on the way to the shower. LOL. Sadly I don’t think we took any photos here.

I’m waiting on some photos of people from the shower, but for now I’ve borrowed a few from BA of Jenny & the fabulous food! Jenny looked amazing! It was so wonderful to meet & hang out with her friends. She was showered with fabulous gifts too including crib, stroller, & lots of cloth diapers (remember she’ll be going through around 40/day!).

The hostesses made such yummy food for us. My favorites: Jen’s caramel aka sex bars. Here’s where she orginially got her receipe, but she eliminates the espresso.
I don’t have a photo of these, but Jen’s Pumpkin Gooey Bars were amazing! It’s a Paula Dean recipe, so you’ll have to ignore the fattiness or just eat a little bit. They would be perfect to take to a fall potluck (especially if you have skinny coworkers/friends! ha!).

Jenny & friends have been calling the triplets PB&J. In honor of that, BA made felt PB&J’s for all the guests which is jsut too cute. They were attached to a box filled with her Oreo Truffles. I saved the truffles until dessert Sunday. Jason & I both LOVED them. They will be made soon.

Alethea & I were having so much fun hanging out with all the women after the shower we kind of forgot to leave! It was almost midnight when we realized it! So as the others were off to bed, we got a second wind thanks to diet coke & one of those pumpkin bars and headed back to Raleigh. I got in bed at 3:30a ~ most definitely the latest in years! I slept til 12 and chilled all day Sunday. Saturday was such a great day! Thanks for including me Jenny!
