Chocolate & Peanut Butter Chip Cookies

I recently picked up a bag of Nestle’s peanut butter & chocolate chips. If you haven’t seen or tried them yet, run to your Target or Harris Teeter or where ever you shop. I wanted to make cookies for my work trip & these we’re perfect. I found the recipe off the back of the bag {thanks Nestle!}. Orginal & creative? No. Made with basic, already-in-my-pantry-ingredients & Delicious? Hells yeah.

Ingredients

2 & 1/4 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 c butter, softened
3/4 c sugar
3/4 c brown sugar, packed {I used light}
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
1 pkg Nestle Tollhouse peanut butter & chocolate “morsels”
1 c chopped nuts {omitted}

Directions
Mix flour, soda & salt in small bowl & set aside.

In large mixer, cream together butter & sugar then vanilla. Add eggs one at a time being sure to beat them in well.

Gradually add in the flour. {Don’t do what I did and think there wasn’t any left, slap the bowl & send flour flying.} Stir in chips.

Using soup/tablespoon, drop cookie balls onto cookie sheets. I used non-stick or parchment covered ones.
Bake 9-11 minutes at 375. Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to cooling rack.

Official recipe says makes 5 dozen cookies. Mine must have been really big because I made more like 3 dozen amazingly yummy cookies. They might’ve been the perfect late night snack & breakfast three days this week. They might’ve.

Week 9 of Project 365

Y’all forgive me, ok? I’m starting to suck at this. But last week was a crazy week for me. I’m promise to do better for week 10 (or at least try).

Saturday Day 57: Walking with Alethea then raking leaves {I got the blisters to prove it}. Then dinner out with friends at Bogart’s followed by a visit to the Cupcake Shoppe. Only photo taken that night was the cupcake on my cell which was later reimaged & deleted. So this I took with the big girl camera Saturday morning.

Sunday Day 58: I can’t remember us doing anything & no photos taken.

Monday Day 59: Busy day at work then small group while it was POURING down rain. No photo.

Tuesday Day 60: RE appointment then laundry & hanging with the husband. No photo.

Wednesday Day 61: I was a crazy worker bee so I could leave work early again. This time thought it was for a much needed haircut & highlights. My hair looked awesome when I got home but no photos taken of it.

Thursday Day 62: Book club! for Shanghai Girls which I am planning to have it’s own blog post for later this week. We also sold my husband’s car that night. After all that, I sat down on the couch, got cold & covered Moe & I up. He might look annoyed in the photo, but he actually liked it.

Friday Day 63: We treked off to my parent’s house Friday night. They weren’t home (in Charlotte visiting Papa). It was weird but not weird to be alone in my old house. Didn’t take any photos there, but Captured photo of Jason’s nightstand was taken after midnight is I’m calling it day 63.

I promise I’m already doing better for this week 10!

Captured: Nightstand

Fellow Raleigh blogger, Adventuroo, recently started Capture the Everyday. Last week’s theme was something you couldn’t live without. I kept meaning to photo & post about my Diet Cokes, but I forgot.  Moving on. This week’s theme is your nightstand.

I took a few photos Thursday night of my nightstand {after I speed-dusted with the Tshirt I was wearing} as well as the one of Jason’s side of the bed. Mine includes three photos~ all are at least a couple of years old: one with college friends tailgating before a football game, the second at my sorority big sister’s Pawley’s Island wedding, & the one closest to my head at night is my first favorite photo of Jason & I which was also taking tailgating at a football game.
We have Target lamps on both nightstands. The alarm clock is now just used as a clock because I kept sleeping through the radio or CD playing. I use my cell phone’s alarm in the mornings and keep my phone charging here too.  A grey cat that my Ma gave me soon after we got Moe and a small flower spaced jewelry dish {which currently holds a rock I got at a church years ago} both also live on the nightstand.
The two books are both Christian daily prayer stories which sadly I don’t read often enough. Like others I will sometimes not be able to sleep because a to-do list that won’t leave in my head. This happened a lot while I was wedding planning. Now that notepad is frequently used to remind me of my BBT. Speaking of that, you’ll also see I have a thermometer, water bottle & my new thyroid medicine as well as my mouth guard {which keeps my TMJ under control} on my nightstand.

Jason side has two of his favorite photos from our wedding: he & I at the bar after the rehearsal dinner & he & his groomsmen. I gave him the Alway Kiss Me Goodnight sign a couple of years ago for Christmas since I love a goodnight kiss.  The little thing on its side is a tiny but super bright flash light which is great for checking to see what Moe’s doing in the middle of the night or looking into the closet which has a broken light.

RE Appointment Update

I mentioned in my hsg post that we had our follow up appointed with our RE on 3/1. I haven’t been trying to hold out on y’all if anyone’s been wondering. I’ve just had a crazy busy week {ex: small group Mon, appt Tues, haircut & highlights Wed, book club & selling a car Thurs, packing & going OOT Fri}. I’m exhausted just typing all that out. So forgive me that I just got the chance to type & schedule this post.

Our RE, I’ll call him DrP, went over our test results. As I had thought/prayed/hoped, everything came back within the normal range. My bloodwork showed my thyroid levels are on the higher side of normal, so he prescribed a very low dose of a medicine to get that lowered. DrP advised my levels weren’t so high that they’ve been affecting our TTC, but when pregnant your levels get higher and he wanted my pre-pregnacy base line as safely low as possible.

DrP advised us to try as we have been doing for the rest of this cycle {TMI TMI alert, pretty sure I O’d this week on top of everything else on the to-do list}. If.when I get my next period, I will go in for monitoring day 1 then if that’s clear start Femera on day 3-7, have another round of monitoring day 12 and then do the Ovadril shot when they tell me. He thinks Femera & Ovadril should do enough to actually give me a 2WW that I won’t need to also do progesterone supposatories.

It’d be AMAZING if this {cycle 14 if you’re keeping track} worked. But if not, I’m happily/hopefully exctied to begin the treatments that I truly believe will help us make a baby!

Girls Night Sleepover

Two Saturday nights ago eight of us gathered in Charlotte for a girls night sleepover. We arrived at Jen aka Speed’s house around 6. We immediately dove into the dips & snacks we’d prepared. Kathleen, of the Lusher fame, lived up to her foodie status and made an amazing Mexican layered dip. BA said she was bring Dortitos, she didn’t but I can’t remember what she bought {maybe chips etc to go with K’s dip?!}. Sarah G made brushetta & crack dip.  Alethea brought hummus, ranch dip & veggies. Sara made a great spinach dip. Poeiap Sarah made homemade salsa~ oh so spicy & delicious! I brought Nana’s Cheese Straws.

I’m pretty sure we had more alcohol on hand than most frat parties on a Saturday night: Firefly, American Honey, wine (white), wine (red) & more wine (champagne).

Jen made her now famous caramel bars aka better-than-sex bars. We munched on them then refilled our drinks. We laughed as Jen introduced us to XBox Kinet’s dance game. Then took turns dancing too~ so fun & a bit of a workout!

All that dancing meant chillin’ on the floor, checking out & playing on each others’ phones & Jen’s ipad. Then time for more snacks & refills. Oh yeah, remember that sangria? That fruit sounds really good about now!

We talked & laughed & shared funny stories all. night. long. Things might have gotten a little TMI & maybe even what some would consider inappropriate, but not much was held back with this group of friends.

Sarah & BA even attempted to give me camera tips. Don’t blame them for the rough looking ones on here. Firefly + laughing + Suz = blurry photos.

The late night girls. At 3am, everything is funny! Even Suz & her non-stop photo taking, I hope?!

Oh so much fun ladies! Thanks again Jen {& baby Cora} for hostessing us all! Can’t wait to together again in April for the March of Dimes walk if I don’t see y’all before then!
