Project 365 Update

Day 134: Saturday I thought we’d chill since I’d been gone all week. Instead Jason had the plan that we’d package then mail a couple car parts that he’d sold while I was gone. Below was his rear bumper. {we wrapped it in sheets, duct tape, plastic, boxes, duct tape & more plastic.}

Day 135: Sunday was a chill day. Catching up with each other & Moekitty.

Day 136: Monday was busy. Met up with my friend Beth & baby Reagan for lunch, Laura & her girls stopped by after work to pickup something, then I walked with Alethea. Moe & I were happy to snuggle & watch TV that night.

Day 137: Tuesday night I made Chicken Cranberry Ranch. We’d both forgotten how good it is & how yummy of leftovers it makes!

Day 138: Even Moekitty likes the clean kitchen floors. Thanks Shark Mop.

Day 139: Thursday I worked late, picked up Subway which we made yummier with Beano’s sauce, then switched to WP.org & suzstreats.com! So busy I didn’t take any photos.

Day 140: Friday night I worked late again {I’m traveling for work again all next week}, walked with Alethea, then enjoyed dinner with the husband. No photo taken.

How was your week?

Trying To Conceive

Childless vs Child-free

This weekend I’m trying out a different frame of mind. Instead of thinking of this past year & a half as wasted time {& us being childless}, I’m trying to appreciate my life as it is. So this weekend, I’m being thankful of all the things we do that we couldn’t necessarily do once we have children.

Things like deciding last minute to go to out to dinner at 8p on a Friday night. And being able to just get in the car & decide where on the way. {We decided El Rodeo. The quesadilla & beers were delicious!}

I appreciate being able to sleep in on a Saturday until 10a. Then lazily making scrambled eggs together. Walking the lake with a friend while the husband works on his car. Saturday afternoon movie watching on the couch or afternoon naps. Nights out with girls where you don’t have to worry about fixing dinner/diapers/bath-times before you head out.

While I’d give anything for us to be pregnant or even already have our child at this point, I’m going to focus & concentrate on being thankful for a happy, healthy relationship & enjoying being child-free {for now}.

Moms, what’s something you miss from your pre-kid days? What else should I appreciate for now?

Friday Cheers

It’s Friday! Anyone else ready for a post-work cocktail? I’m not usually one for liquor. Give me a glass of white wine &/or a light beer & I’m good. But this week I’ve been wanting liquor. I blame the Bethenny Ever After marathon I saw Sunday & all of @FireFlyVodka’s tweets.

I stopped by our local ABC store Tuesday afterwork. I picked up soco for the husband & wanted Skinny Girl margaritas & Skinny Firefly for me. I was excited to find Skinny Girl on the shelves. I was equally surprised when the employee said they don’t have the skinny firefly nor was he sure when it’d be there. {I tweeted Firefly & they said they’d check on it for me. Gotta love twitter.} It’s in Charlotte so I’m hoping one of the Charlotte girls brings it for our beach trip!

Jason & I both enjoyed a Skinny Girl margarita Tuesday night. I’ve got my mind on another one for tonight!

What are y’all looking forward to celebrating the end of the work week with tonight?

My new home

Welcome! If you’re here, you’ve realized suzstreats.blogspot.com has been upgraded to suzstreats.com! I’m so happy & excited about the change & I hope you are too.

Please bare with me as I *attempt* learn all the ends & outs of WordPress.org. I know Suz’s Treats will go through some trial & error in the process.

I’d love your thoughts of the change! If you use WP, I’m very interested to hear what are your WP favorites as well as what hasn’t worked for you.

What Needs Upgrading

As usual, Melissa over at Adventuroo‘s Capture the Everyday resounded with me. Basic target mop & bucket, meet your upgrade: Shark Professional Steam Mop. {the yellow on the shark is a reflection of our vacuum which lives in the same closet with the mops, old crutches & the spot bot.}

I posted Monday about holding off on the Shark Steam Mop. I only made it two days {and one night of cooking on a sticky kitchen floor} before heading back to Costco Wednesday. The Pro version was very easy to install & I was able to quickly vacuum up our foyer & kitchen & steam away before Jason got home from work. I started on the first “dust” level for the foyer. I upp’d it to “mop” for the kitchen then the hardcore steam setting for the super dirty spots.

I was impressed how easy & effective it was. I love also that unlike when I usually had to *attempt* to corral Moe away from the wet floors, I’m not worried about him walking on them since it’s just water.
